Finch is from California who first started playing softball in the age of five. Doug Finch taught Jennie his very first pitching instructor. Jennie first started with the Finch Windmill, a device to strengthen and condition the arm at age 10. At the age of 16, Jennie pitched six perfect game, and had 13 no-hitters. In the years following graduation, she attended an undergraduate program at the University of Arizona and was recognized as a three-time All American pitcher, as well as a first-baseman. Additionally, she was awarded the Honda Award as the nation's most outstanding softball player in 2001 after the Wildcats took home the title of national champions and again in 2002. The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Teams (WWAST) mission is to raise awareness through exhibition and celebrity softball games of the sacrifices, perseverance and dedication of our military and highlight the ability of these athletes to overcome any obstacle.
